Bunions

Saving the World— One Bunion at a Time

Ditch the Flip-Flops

You’ve tried it all: arthritis cream, wider shoes, specialized pads. But no matter what you do, that awful bump on your big toe aches.

Sticking to sandals to relieve your bunion pain just isn’t feasible long term. You want to feel comfortable participating in your favorite activities and walking in sneakers or boots without an intrusive bone or chronic pain in your way.

Step into our office and let our foot care professionals help you get back on your feet.

Back in Shoes in No Time

Fancy lingo aside, we generally see three levels of bunion severity in our patients: mild, moderate and severe. Sometimes all you need are a few therapy sessions and slight shoe gear changes. Other times, surgical procedure could be the most relieving option.

Our doctors recommend bunion relief treatments based on your specific circumstances and do all they can to promise the quickest recovery possible.

For most cases, you could be sporting your best closed-toed shoes in as little as four to six weeks.

Our Bunion Treatments

A bunion is a bony bump formed off of the joint of your big toe. Our doctors tailor their therapeutic and surgical healing processes based on your foot’s severity. We like to say we’re your foot pain heroes, “saving the world one bunion at a time!”

Here’s a glimpse of how we’ll treat your big toe pain:

    • Come in for an initial consultation. We’ll meet you and get hands-on, to determine the severity of your bunions. You’ll leave with some helpful information to get by until our next appointment.
    • Return right after for a full consultation.
A week later, you’ll return for a full evaluation. If the pain is something we can remedy with physical therapy or shoe gear changes, we’ll schedule a series of sessions and offer recommendations. If your case is more severe, we’ll plan a procedure for fast relief.
    • Receive your therapy or surgery.
Over the next few weeks, you’ll come in for bi-weekly therapy, or =post surgery, bi-weekly check-ins and recovery exercises as needed. We’ll take x-rays and ensure your full range of motion is back before giving you the thumbs up to get back in shoes.
    • Get the clear and leave with long term recommendations.
Our patients are typically back in their shoes four to six weeks in, but we’ll encourage you to visit for one final exam at the eight week mark. By this point, you should be back to your normal activity level and might even be jumping for joy (though we recommend keeping the jumps to a minimal until you’re feeling 100%)!
